On November 4, 2025, according to the official website of Philip Morris International (PMI), PMI officially announced a new corporate organizational restructuring plan. This change will officially take effect on January 1, 2026, aiming to enhance corporate flexibility by optimizing business layout and accelerate the strategic transformation into a "smokeless company".
Architecture Upgrade: Two Major Business Units + Three Major Segments Implemented
The core of this organizational restructuring is the establishment of two core business units, reporting directly to Group CEO Jacek Olczak:
- PMI International Business
Frederic de Wilde, the current president of the South Asia, Southeast Asia, CIS, Middle East and Africa region, will serve as CEO, responsible for advancing the multi-category strategy, tobacco harm reduction efforts and the expansion of smoke-free products in all markets outside the United States, while continuing to explore the value of the traditional tobacco business to support the development of the smoke-free business. - PMI US Business
Stacey Kennedy will continue as CEO, focusing on the two core objectives in the U.S. market: driving the continued growth of the ZYN nicotine bag product and expanding the scale of the heated tobacco business, making it a key engine for the group's long-term growth.
In addition, Aspeya, PMI's health and wellness division, will continue to report to Olczak . At the financial reporting level, the original four geographic regions will be consolidated into three main sections:
- International smoke-free business
- International combustion business
- US business
Starting from the first quarter of 2026, financial data will be disclosed under a new segment, and historical financial adjustment information for 2023-2025 will be released subsequently.
