This, Frega continues, is possible thanks to an integrated supply chain in Italy that employs 41 thousand people and involves 8 thousand companies, with a turnover of 10 billion. \"\u00a0Our path in the transition to go beyond the cigarette is therefore virtuous\",<\/em>\u00a0he adds, underlining how Philip Morris' mission is accelerating towards a smoke-free future.<\/p>\n

Zyn presents itself as an\u00a0alternative solution to traditional cigarettes<\/strong>\u00a0. The tobacco-free nicotine pouches are made of cellulose sachets and do not produce smoke, vapor, ash or odor, representing a \u201cdiscreet and innovative\u201d option for smokers looking for a combustion-free alternative.\u00a0\u201cZyn represents a new product category that will allow us to further accelerate our ambitious vision of building a smoke-free future<\/em>\u00a0,\u201d Frega emphasizes. The introduction of Zyn in Italy is part of a broader picture. The company has already launched iQos in Italy, the tobacco heating system, which has over 2 million users, and Veev, a leader in the electronic cigarette market.\u00a0\u201cInternational experiences in countries such as Sweden and the United States clearly demonstrate the role that this category can play in accelerating smokers' conversion to combustion-free products<\/em>\u00a0,\u201d explains\u00a0Gianluca Iannelli<\/strong>\u00a0, Head of Smoke-Free Products Category at Philip Morris Italia.\u00a0Patrik Hildingsson<\/strong>\u00a0, Director Oral Category Communication at Philip Morris International, from Sweden\u00a0, refers to the successes achieved in his country, where the spread of nicotine pouches has contributed to a significant reduction in smoking. \u201c\u00a0Sweden is on the verge of becoming the first country in the EU to be classified as \u2018smoke-free\u2019, with less than 5% of smokers,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he says, underlining the benefits for public health in the sense that the average number of smoking-related illnesses in Stockholm has halved compared to the EU average.<\/p>\n

ZYN sachets are available\u00a0in 10,000 tobacconists<\/strong>\u00a0in five flavor variants \u2013 Cool Mint, Spearmint, Coffee, Citrus, Peach \u2013 and offer different nicotine intensities to meet the different needs of Italian smokers. Inside there are about 20 sachets at a cost of 5 euros. \u201c\u00a0Zyn does not require the use of hands and this is its peculiarity. It is inserted under the upper lip and through the gum it releases nicotine for up to 30 minutes\u201d,<\/em>\u00a0Iannelli points out. Philip Morris\u2019 ambition is clear: by 2030, revenues from combustion-free products should exceed two-thirds of the total. In this sense, the company has invested more than 14 billion dollars since 2008 to scientifically and commercially develop its smoke-free products, underlines\u00a0Tommaso Di Giovanni,<\/strong>\u00a0vice president of International Communication & Engagement of Philip Morris International, who underlines the importance of technology in the smoke-free future: \u201c\u00a0Today science and technology play a fundamental role in offering practical solutions to those who do not completely quit<\/em>\u00a0,\u201d he says. Now \u201c\u00a0we are at 40 million consumers in 95 markets who use our smoke-free products\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n
