Professor Fan Longjiang's team at Zhejiang University has published a research on the impact of e-cigarettes on human lung cells in the Scientific Reports journal. The study found that solvents in e-cigarettes, even if considered food-safe, could potentially affect cells when inhaled in aerosol form. The study compared e-cigarettes containing propylene glycol and glycerin solvents with those containing nicotine, finding that even with only solvents, a large number of genes would be differentially expressed, and the impact would be greater after adding flavors and nicotine. The results emphasize the need for further research on the long-term impact of e-cigarettes on human health as substitutes. The study also found that mint-flavored e-cigarettes have a greater impact on lung cells than tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes, regardless of whether they contain nicotine, the impact on cell health is greater.<\/em><\/p>\n
